Our Impact

Our Impact - image of hands holding a toy heart to the sun

United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties (UWJWC) is a local, non-profit organization that brings people, health and human service agencies, government entities, and community groups together to help our friends, family members, and neighbors who are in need.

UWJWC researches community needs and works with local government entities, human service organizations, community leaders, donors and service organizations to address pressing community needs. We make sure donations are spent wisely, through our volunteer–driven fund distribution process. The United Way provides a forum where concerned citizens can tackle community problems together.

We build a strong community for families, friends, neighbors, men, women, seniors, children, teenagers, and people with disabilities by directing donations to services that help people when they need it.

We Build and Strengthen our Community with:

Leadership

We research and identify critical health and human service needs and take the lead in directing funding and other resources to ensure that people get the help they need.

Partnership

Because of our relationships with local health and human service agencies, government entities, community leaders, donors, and service groups, UWJWC can bring people together to tackle tough issues and create solutions to community problems.

Focus

United Way volunteers are knowledgeable about the big-picture needs of the community, and with that knowledge, they concentrate resources where those needs are greatest.

Results

The success of United Way is reflected in the well being of our community. United Way invests donations in programs that work.
